Beam Small Table Lamp from Solid Block of Pine
Designed by Christian Vivanco, Beam is the name of contemporary and small table lamp which is paying attention on the materials and mood at the interface moment with the customer. This table is crated from solid block of pine and a thermoformed mma sheet. The furniture designer gives details that the plan came regarding by accident after conversation through various local lumberyards.
Schemed via the probable relationship among an obviously heavy furniture object and amazing ephemeral and inert as light, Christian Vivanco chosen materials which seemed to fit together completely into a pre-defined grid. To improve the Beam table lamp’s relationship with the customer, the designer rounded the edges, making a hugging effect of the hand when holding the lamp.
This sentence is taken from the Beam table designer: “There I got the chance to realize how beautiful wood can be against an urban background, planks and beams stacked one above the other, some of them rough and other refined. Then it struck me, how interesting it could be to give proper respect to the material and its basic physical qualities; weight, texture, appearance, etc.”
